About our founder

Kamal Tucker is the Founder and CEO of Urban Diamonds Inc. managing the overall operations and resources. He has spent over 20 years committed to bettering the local Philadelphia communities with the focus on at-risk and underprivileged youth. He is a valued mentor, athletic coach/consultant to the underrepresented youth in Philadelphia. As a participant in similar programs himself he brings an immense amount of real life and professional experience to the community. Kamal’s attitude toward his passions is a “Positive Vibes Only” mindset. 

Kamal attended Philadelphia Public Schools and was part of the Special Admit program. He attended Hill-Freedman World Academy where he solidified his core values of compassion, lifelong learning, and respect for all people. Kamal graduated from the prestigious Lankenau Motivation High School. While enrolled he was a Special Olympics Coach for athletes aged 12 -18; coaching volleyball, basketball, tennis and track. He then continued his education at Temple University where he earned a B.S. in Sports & Recreation Management.

While attending Temple he enjoyed coaching softball for the National Youth Sports Program along with being the Head Coach for Girls Softball at Friends Select Middle School. Post college he has consulted, coached and developed athletic programs (baseball, softball, track, basketball & football) for the youth of Philadelphia. Kamal was the Dean of Students at Khepera Charter School and also was instrumental in the Snider Hockey Program where he developed curriculum, provided conflict management and coached ages 5-18 years old in ice hockey. Kamal also served as the Head Baseball Coach for Bodine High School. 

Kamal lives in Philadelphia and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. This includes playing softball with the Dirty Birdz Athletic organization. He is an avid Philadelphia Sports Fan!! And never turns down an opportunity to help the community.
